I grew up across from an emergency room in New York City, surrounded by chaos, humor, and endless stories. In high school, my friends and I created Roboshithead, a messy public-access show fueled by teenage rebellion, surreal experiments, and humor that was equal parts absurd and unsettling—a raw reflection of growing up in New York City.

Later, at Tisch’s graduate film program, I co-founded Peking, where we sparked the ‘Sadvertising’ movement and won a Cannes Lions Grand Prix for our Skype series, mixing documentary realism with emotional authenticity.

Now directing solo, my work blends precision with improvisation, creating films that feel alive—emotionally layered, visually distinctive, and genuinely human. I’m fascinated by contradictions, drawn to humor, and always chasing stories that surprise me, make me laugh, or keep me up at night.

My wife Leah Boatright, a documentary editor, is my creative and life partner. When I’m not directing, I’m yelling at the Knicks, making up songs with my son Cosmo, or figuring out what’s next.
